Yamaha's fully updated Gen 2 middleweight supersport, powered by the 689cc liquid-cooled DOHC CP2 parallel-twin with a 270-degree crankshaft and new-for-2026 YCC-T ride-by-wire throttle, paired to a 6-speed transmission with an assist and slipper clutch and Yamaha's standard third-generation bidirectional Quick Shift System. Standard electronics now include a six-axis IMU driving traction, slide, lift, and launch control with cornering-aware ABS, plus Sport, Street, Rain, and Custom ride modes displayed on a new 5-inch full-color TFT with smartphone connectivity. Chassis upgrades include a revised diamond-type steel frame, fully adjustable 41mm KYB inverted fork and preload/rebound-adjustable KYB rear monoshock, SpinForged aluminum wheels on Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tires, and dual 298mm front discs with 4-piston radial calipers. At 417 lb wet with a 32.7-inch seat and 3.7-gallon tank, it delivers proper Supersport character in a beginner-friendly package
